چکیده

On the linear level elliptic equilibria of Hamiltonian systems are mere superpositions of harmonic oscillators. Non-linear terms can produce instability, if the ratio of frequencies is rational and the Hamiltonian is indefinite. In this paper we study the frequency ratio ±1/2 and its unfolding. In particular we show that for the indefinite case (1:−2) the frequency ratio map in a neighbourhood of the origin has a critical point, i.e. the twist condition is violated for one torus on every energy surface near the energy of the equilibrium. In contrast, we show that the frequency map itself is non-degenerate (i.e. the Kolmogorov non-degeneracy condition holds) for every torus in a neighbourhood of the equilibrium point. As a by product of our analysis of the fequency map we obtain another proof of fractional monodromy in the 1:−2 resonance.

Series Resonance Based Fault Current Limiter with Controlling The Point of Common Coupling Voltage

This paper proposes a novel Fault Current Limiter (FCL) for the application on distribution networks to control voltage sags at the Point of Common Coupling (PCC) during faults. This new FCL is based on series resonance including resonance transformer and series capacitor. So, by proper design of the series resonance LC tank, the fault current is limited to an acceptable level. The FCL operatio...

Resonance Ultrasonic Spectroscopy of a Nanofibrous Composite and Studying the Effect of Surface/Interface

Resonances are intrinsic characteristics of an elastic object, which are completely independent of the source of excitation. The appropriate utilization of the information contained within the resonance spectra and the identification of the resonance frequencies of the object can be used as a potent tool for material characterization. In this paper, a new mathematical model for the wave diffrac...

Tunable Plasmonic Nanoparticles Based on Prolate Spheroids

Metallic nanoparticles can exhibit very large optical extinction in the visible spectrum due to localized surface plasmon resonance. Spherical plasmonic nanoparticles have been the subject of numerous studies in recent years due to the fact that the scattering response of spheres can be analytically evaluated using Mie theory. However a major disadvantage of metallic spherical nanoparticles is ...

Combination Resonance of Nonlinear Rotating Balanced Shafts Subjected to Periodic Axial Load

Dynamic behavior of a circular shaft with geometrical nonlinearity and constant spin, subjected to periodic axial load is investigated. The case of parametric combination resonance is studied. Extension of shaft center line is the source of nonlinearity. The shaft has gyroscopic effect and rotary inertia but shear deformation is neglected. The equations of motion are derived by extended Hamilto...
